Zusammenfassung:Results are reported from experiments on the effect of different doses of 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzodioxin, applied as a single injection, on growth, liver and spleen in rainbow trout (Onchorhynchus mykiss). An increase in liver weight and the first signs of growth inhibition were observed 6 and 11 weeks, respectively, after a dosage of 5 ug per kg, but the effects on relative spleen weight were inconclusive. Both EROD induction in the liver and histopathological changes in the spleen were observed at doses as low as 0.5 ug per kg.
