Zusammenfassung:Sympetrum signiferum n. sp. from western Mexico and southern Arizona is described and its diagnostic characters illustrated. It is structurally most similar to, but is larger than, S. vicinum (Hagen); a triangular brown patch at the base of the hindwing is unique in the Nearctic members of the genus.
