Zusammenfassung: | This paper describes the mechanical and environmental characteristics of two new high-performance alloys, HAYNES alloy 556 and HAYNES alloy HR-160. Laboratory test results and field service evaluations in varied incineration environments will be presented. Results show that for a variety of components in waste-incineration applications, these two alloys provide solutions to complex high-temperature corrosion problems. The 556 alloy exhibits outstanding combinations of high-temperature strength and resistance to sulfidizing, oxidizing, and chlorine-bearing environments. The HR-160 alloy displays outstanding resistance to sulfidizing and other aggressive environments. |
