Zusammenfassung: | Based on surface meteorological data and wave data collected from 2 stations in the western Bay of Bengal in July 1979, surface layer (SL) conditions of the atmosphere for different situations of surface circulations and the associated sea surface roughness and height of surface roughness were studied. Ri sub(Bulk) values for SL indicated neutral and near-neutral conditions. The convective activity affected sea-air temperature difference. Wind and convective activity appeared to cause variations in the characteristic height of SL. Larger variations of SL were encountered during the rough regimes of sea surface roughness. The wind hodographs of diurnal variations showed anticyclonic, precursor and cyclonic circulations. |
