Zusammenfassung:A specimen of the Australian ladybird beetle Cryptolaemus montrouzieri Mulsant was found outside a green house in the Botanical Garden of Uppsala on July 18 1993 and July 21 1996 respectively. The species is registered for biological control in Sweden, and it had been used for predation on scale insects (Coccoidea) in one of the green houses. One other ladybird, the North American species Hippodamia convergens Guerin has been introduced and tested for biological control in some green houses in Sweden. It is used in several European countries, including Denmark.
