Zusammenfassung:	Meiotic and mitotic division of the nuclei of Acetabularia mediterranea were studied with the aid of DAPI fluorochrome and fluorescence microscopy. The authors report, for the first time, the formation of 20 bivalents in the primary nucleus during the early stages of meiosis. The karyotype of 20 chromosomes in the secondary nuclei is described.
