Zusammenfassung:This paper reports on a two-year analysis of the wind climateand its effect on phytoplankton primary production in ashallow (mean depth = 1.9 m), hypertrophic South Africancoastal lake, Zeekoevlei. The lake is subject to continuousmixing of the euphotic zone (Z^sub eu^ = 0.8 m), andcomplete mixing of the water column to the mean depth on adaily basis.
