Zusammenfassung: | (1) Coom Rigg Moss is a peatland National Nature Reserve within the Wark Forest, in Northumberland. The surrounding area was planted with conifers 30 years ago. (2) The site was re-surveyed during August 1986, using the same methods as in earlier studies of the site during 1957-59. The results from the two surveys have been used to assess some of the changes that have occurred at the site between 1958 and 1986. (3) Changes in the vegetation are discussed in relation to possible causes such as changes in hydrology and land use. Implications of these changes are discussed in relation to problems in management of peatland sites. |
