Zusammenfassung:To the Editor: Hypertrichosis of the eyelashes associated with zidovudine therapy in the treatment of patients with the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) has not to our knowledge been reported as a drug-induced adverse effect. We present a case of hypertrichosis of the eyelashes that occurred two weeks after the patient started zidovudine therapy. A 30-year-old man returned to our clinic on March 29, 1990, approximately two weeks after the initiation of zidovudine therapy at a dose of 200 mg every four hours.
