Zusammenfassung:	Nightingale et al. recently described two patients with AIDS who manifested acute psychoses shortly after they began receiving clarithromycin therapy for Mycobacterium avium complex bacteremia. Both received 2,000 mg of clarithromycin daily. We recently encountered a similar reaction in an elderly, non-HIV-infected male who received treatment with clarithromycin (1,000 mg daily) for a sort-tissue infection.
