Zusammenfassung:Lower Miocene rocks of the uppermost part of the Pysht Formation and the overlying Clallam Formation on the Olympic Peninsula, Washington have yielded rare fossils of a small crab, Cancer (Metacarcinus) starri, new species. This is the second lower Miocene record of the genus Cancer and the oldest of the subgenus Metacarcinus.
