Zusammenfassung: | The effect of scale on nitrogen oxides emissions from swirl stabilized pulverized coal flames was investigated using three burner scales in the 0.9-3.4-Mw range. Each burner was geometrically similar and constant velocity was used as the primary aerodynamic scaling criterion. Furnace exhaust NO sub( x) emissions marginally increased with increasing burner scale, a trend explained in terms of the effect of scale on the mixing rate between fuel and air and the consequential effect on the in-flame chemistry. |
