Zusammenfassung:Chromosome numbers of n = 11 and 2n = 22 were found for the polyembryonic parasitoid Copidosoma floridanum (Ashmead). No differences in chromosome number were found for C. floridanum collected from South Carolina, Wisconsin, and California. Reciprocal mating between wasps from the different geographic regions produced viable progeny of both sexes. Examination of various tissues indicated that embryonic tissue from fourth-instar hosts was an excellent source for mitotically active cells which could be very useful in future cytological studies of polyembryonic parasitoids.
