Zusammenfassung: | Composite materials have been receiving considerable interest for the past years. However due to the high cost of these materials, they have not been popular in a number of applications. In view of this, many avenues have been investigated to lower the cost of composite materials, among these is the use of composites reinforced by natural bamboo. This article reports a study on the impact properties of normal bamboo, reformed bamboo and reformed bamboo/Al composite. A way of improving the impact toughness of reformed bamboo while maintaining the merits of its static properties is also established. |
