Microcylloepus formicoideus (Coleoptera: Elmidae), a new riffle beetle from Death Valley National Monument, California

Microcylloepus formicoideus sp. nov. is described from Travertine Springs, Inyo Co., California. A survey of local permanent springs indicates that the species only exists at the type locality. Relationships with other congeners is discussed.
