Zusammenfassung:Background: HIV discordant couples benefit from joint HIV testing, with seroconversion rates of 3-4%/year in Rwanda compared with 11%-12%/year among uncounseled discordant couples in the region. Treatment-as-prevention (TAP) with ARV has been recommended for discordant couples. HIV- women participating in vaccine trials are asked to avoid pregnancy, ideally with long acting under independent contraceptives (LARC) such as the copper IUD and the contraceptive implant.
