Zusammenfassung:Three strains of O. niloticus (Egypt, Ghana and Ivory Coast) were evaluated for reproductive performance both in intra-strain and inter-strain matings. Individuals examined in this experiment were progeny from Egypt (E) strain, a wild population; Ivory Coast (I) strain, a domesticated stock at Auburn University; and Ghana (G) strain, a domesticated stock in Israel. Fecundity (eggs kg body weight −1 spawn −1), egg length and width, percentage hatch and 24-h sac fry length were not different ( P>0.05) among the three strains.
