Zusammenfassung:The stress analysis of a marine cable or umbilical in a rotary bending test rig is presented. It is shown that the finite length of the test sample and the terminations have a significant influence on the stresses in the umbilical which is taken into consideration in determining the cyclic stress distribution in the helical components. Consistency between the theory and test results is demonstrated.
