'Meum amantissimum nepotem': a new document concerning Giovanni Bellini

Published for the first time in its entirety, the document that is the subject of this article provides a remarkable new insight into the personal life and character of the great Venetian painter Giovanni Bellini. The record in question--a will witnessed by the masters devoted disciple Vittore Belliniano--is relevant to the debates about Bellini's age and parentage, although it does not solve them, and the evidence about these matters needs to be set out before the document is considered.
