Success of a root hemiparasitic plant is influenced by soil quality and by defoliation of its host

Salonen and Puustinen examined the consequences of a partial defoliation of the host plant to the host itself and to the parasitic plant attached to it. This relationship was examined with Agrostis capillaris and Rhinanthus serotinus.
