Budding yeast have been thought to achieve these attachments with different kinetics than other eukaryotes. Now, deploying specialized data processing techniques to achieve super-resolution images, Marco et al. demonstrate that this tractable cell-cycle model system shares more similarities with plants and animals than previously thought.
