Zusammenfassung:	Highlights • German HPV vaccination leaflets do not provided balanced information. • Unbalanced reporting reduced people's understanding of the HPV vaccination. • By contrast, balanced reporting was found to increase their understanding. • The differences in reporting did not affect people's actual HPV vaccination uptake. • However, only balanced reporting induced an intention that reliably predicted the vaccination decision.
