Zusammenfassung:We describe blue whale Balaenoptera musculus, sounds recorded from 0930-0958 on 18 February 1987 at 29 degree 35'N, 113 degree 25'W, 8 km east of the northern tip of Angel de la Guarda Island in about 100 m of water. The blue whales were composed of one large adult, two pairs of smaller individuals, and another whale too far away to ascertain relative size. They were moving southeasterly along the island's east coast in long dives, at ranges from us of 200-2,000 m.
