Zusammenfassung: | Recent estimates place the prevalence of borderline personality disorder (BPD) as high as 5.9% among adults and 3.2% among children and adolescents. Borderline personality disorder is characterized by an extremely intense experience of emotion, severe interpersonal problems, and impulsive, often self-destructive, behaviors. While several treatments were developed in response to the clinical needs of this high-risk population, dialectical behavior therapy is unmatched by other forms of BPD treatment in terms of the depth of supportive research established for it . |
