Zusammenfassung:The barrier effectiveness of specific fabric characteristics was investigated with respect to pesticide penetration. Several fabric types including denim, chambray, and twill were studied both before and after they had been treated with water repellants such as Zepel D, Norane F, and Mykon NRW-3. The sythetic fabrics Tyvek, Saranex, and Gore-tex were also included in the study. The results demonstrated that coated and uncoated denim and twill as well as Saranex- and PE-coated Tyvek all provide excellent protection against penetration by the pesticides Captan, Dicofol, Ethion and methyl parathion.
