Zusammenfassung:As a result of 4 ichthyoplankton cruises during 1976 and 1977 off Baja California western coast, the anchovy spawning biomass was estimated in 1 million tons in 1976 and 2.5 million tons in 1977 at the zone comprised between Coronado islands and Punta del Carrizal, Baja California. Egg and larvae distribution as well as biomass were analyzed. Punta San Quintin, San Sebastian Vizcaino Bay and Punta Eugenia were considered important spawning zones. Night-day proportion was calculated, as well as natural mortality coefficient obtaining M = 0.370 in 1977.
