Zusammenfassung:A series of C sub(7)-C sub(11) alpha , beta -unsaturated aldehydes was characterized together with several fatty alcohols and acids as antimicrobial agents from the dried flowers of a Brazilian medicinal plant, Tanacetum balsamita. Among them, the alpha , beta -unsaturated aldehydes were found to exhibit a broad antimicrobial spectrum.
