A contribution to the knowledge of the Cyprinidae of Iran (Pisces, Cypriniformes)

A total amount of 23 species and subspecies, mainly from southern Iran, are described. Among them, there is a new species and three new subspecies. Schizocypris altidorsalis , form seistan, is the third species of the genus. Chondrostoma cyri orientalis , from Pulwar River (Kor River basin) near Persepolis belong, apparently, to the nasus group. Capoeta capoeta intermedia , from Mand and Hablehrud rivers, is intermediate between C.c. umbla and C.c. macrolepis. Capoeta barroisis mandica is another new subspecies from Mand River, besides, almost all other species deserve some remarks concerning their systematic status.
