Zusammenfassung:	Eltrombopag is a new thrombomimetic medication approved for the treatment of immune thrombocytopenia. There are very few reports on the use of eltrombopag in patients with thrombocytopenia associated with sytemic lupus.We present a recent case of a patient with lupus with severe thrombocytopenia refractory to conventional therapy and full recovery with the use of eltrombopag. The present status of the literature with the use of this medication in patients with lupus is reviewed and discussed.
