A comparison of chlorine toxicity to three life stages of striped bass (Morone saxatilis)

Tabulated results are presented from experiments to determine the toxicity of chlorine to larvae, young juveniles, and older juveniles of striped bass, Morone saxatilis, and the 24-, 48-, and 96-hour LC50 values for each stage are estimated. The egg stage of striped bass has been shown to be relativ...

Zusammenfassung:Tabulated results are presented from experiments to determine the toxicity of chlorine to larvae, young juveniles, and older juveniles of striped bass, Morone saxatilis, and the 24-, 48-, and 96-hour LC50 values for each stage are estimated. The egg stage of striped bass has been shown to be relatively tolerant to chlorine, and this is followed by increasing sensitivity of the larvae until metamorphosis; beyond this stage , the fish become more tolerant to chlorine up to an age of about one year.
