Zusammenfassung: | Interest has been aroused recently by the presence of flocks of Shelduck Tadorna tadorna undergoing primary moult on British estuaries (Bryant 1978, 1981). This habit appears to be becoming more widespread, and it was suggested that British estuaries other than those studied previously may contain moulting flocks. During 1978 and 1979 the author carried out a survey of the north bank of the Humber (Tasker and Milsom 1979), during which a small but significant flock of moulting Shelduck was discovered on Foulholme Sands. |
