Zusammenfassung: | Based on the Boltzmann equation, we investigate the transverse magnetoresistance (MR) in quasi‐two‐dimensional electronic systems with a cosine dispersion law in the case of the current carriers scattering on impurity ions within the relaxation time approximation. The dependence of the transverse MR on magnitude and direction of the magnetic field as well as the Fermi surface topology have been determined. It has been found that for the scattering by a long‐range Coulomb potential the transverse MR can be negative depending on the degree of band filling and the magnetic field direction. It has been shown that there exists a region of magnetic fields where the MR quasilinearly depends on the field. |
