Zusammenfassung:High-volume application of lightweight materials is key to increasing fuel efficiency and vehicle performance and decreasing exhaust emissions to address environmental concerns. Currently, Mg alloys, which are the lightest structural materials, represent only ~0.3% of the vehicle weight. The proposed research is part of an ongoing effort to increase the use of Mg alloys at a significant level in the automotive industry.
