Zusammenfassung:As an addition to a previous work published in 2010, the author analyzes in this article to what extent are the toponyms formed by a person's name (PN) in genitive case also kept at present as surnames in Asturian, either exclusively, or jointly with other languages of Spain. The toponyms alluded originally correspond to the construction determined + determiner, where the first element refers to the possession (villa, source, summer pasture, apple tree...) whereas the second one was the name of the possessor in genitive case. These are structures where the nucleus of the noun phrase disappeared, a common phenomenon in this language, and so the determiner -- that is, the possessor's name in genitive -- became the place name by itself. Moreover, this work tries to determine, where possible, whether the genitive of the first name was used to name the land and, simultaneously, as a family name or if it was first used as a place name and afterwards that the toponym was the term used to name a specific person.
