Zusammenfassung: | In the present study, soluble proteins of strains currently labelled B. oralis have been subjected to isoelectric focusing in polyacrylamide gels pH 4-6.5. In addition, DNA base composition and DNA-DNA reassociation studies of these strains have been performed in an attempt to substantiate earlier findings and clarify the taxonomy of this confused group of microorganisms. Oral strains referred to as B. ruminicola subsp. brevis were also compared with authentic rumen strains of B. ruminicola subsp. brecis and one strain of B. ruminicola subsp. ruminicola to verify the validity of this taxonomic relationship. |
