Zusammenfassung: | The technologies involved in acid cleaning and temporary passivation of copper alloy tubing are described. The acid cleaning recommended is the slow circulation of dilute sulphuric or nitric acid, with a steel corrosion inhibitor and an antifoaming agent, through the tubes. Copper tubes are passivated with benzotriazole and cupronickel with 2-mercaptobenzothiazole. Some corrosion monitoring techniques are described and three examples of treating condensers and desalination plants are presented. |
