Zusammenfassung:Hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) has been demonstrated to be prophylactic against peritoneal recurrence and to result in improved survival.6 Thus, gastric cancer patients with positive peritoneal cytology who do not have a macroscopic peritoneal disease but an occult carcinomatosis need an integrated multimodal management with surgery, chemotherapy, and, in selected cases, HIPEC.
