The science and art of plant-disease diagnosis

The author discusses both the theoretical and practical aspects of diagnosis, i.e. concepts of disease and etiology in relation to diagnosis, how students can acquire detailed knowledge of crop characteristics, cultural requirements, and diseases, prior to attempting diagnosis. Also the author discusses the interpretation of field observations and data from various field, laboratory, and greenhouse tests so as to identify the causal factors of disease.
