AIDS-associated lymphoma of the brain in a child

To the Editor.— Non-Hodgkin primary lymphoma of the CNS in children with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection has now been included by the Centers for Disease Control in the classification system of pediatric acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).1 We report here a lymphoma of the brain associated with AIDS in a 12-month-old child. The patient was a male infant, weighing 3,000 g at birth, born to a former intravenous drug-addict HIV-seropositive mother. His growth had always been poor.
