Comparing Three Plants in Absorption of Ions from Different Natural Saline and Sodic Soils
The objective of this study was to determine the influence of natural salt stress on the mineral composition of the two plants in comparison with alfalfa as control. Five salinity levels of natural soil with EC of 2.5 dS/m, 5.5 dS/m, 6.9 dS/m, 10.2 dS/m and 12.9 dS/m in 1:1 soil extract were tested....

Zusammenfassung: | The objective of this study was to determine the influence of natural salt stress on the mineral composition of the two plants in comparison with alfalfa as control. Five salinity levels of natural soil with EC of 2.5 dS/m, 5.5 dS/m, 6.9 dS/m, 10.2 dS/m and 12.9 dS/m in 1:1 soil extract were tested. Frankenia, Seidlitzia and alfalfa (as control) were planted in these soils. Na, Ca, Mg, P, K, Fe, Cu, Zn and Mn were determined in digested plants with HCl 1 M. The results showed that the mineral composition was affected by plant type. Seidlitzia relative to frankenia and alfalfa had accumulated more Na, K, Ca and Fe in its tisuues, but frankenia had absorbed more Zn. Seidlitzia and frankenia together had more Mg and Mn in upper ground textures. Soil salinity had not any effect on the element contents of three mentioned plants. |
