Zusammenfassung:This paper is the result of a research that aimed to show how Curricula of Rio Grande do Sul Psychology Courses are showing signs of moving towards education of health professionals for SUS. The study has been developed from the analysis of academic courses programs, both highlighting and discussing the directions provided by plans, contents and bibliographies, having the principles and guidelines of SUS health policies as a guide. The paper has a special focus on the study of academic courses that approach the contents of psychological assessment, psychopathology, and psychotherapy. To develop this discussion we analyzed the input of Psychology in the public health area and its contributions to the construction of a new health policy through academic training and education. The discussion is guided by the main theoretical tools and concepts discussed in the public health area, such as the broadening of the health concept, the principle of integration, the policy of humanization and the comprehensive care perspective in health care. From the analysis conducted, we point to the need for problematizing the construction of a psychology subject, to the question of what kind of health professional is being produced by Psychology Courses, as well as the effects that psychologists might operate in the daily routine of health services.
