Zusammenfassung: | The Changing Face of World Cities. Young Adult Children of Immigrants in Europe and the United States by Maurice Crul and John Mollenkopf (eds.) is reviewed. The Changing Face of World Cities shows that national policies on each side of the Atlantic can be enriched by lessons from the other. These ndings and related debates can also have more far reaching implications for the hitherto more under-observed contexts and the new receiving regions of immigrants such as the Southern European countries. At the end of the book, the reader still has food for thought about the right formula of assimilation or integration but is more aware that the different historical and contextual settings shape unique (not always comparable) immigrant trajectories. |
