In lasting tribute: Elliot F. Ellis, MD, 1929-2014

In recognition of his career achievements, he received the Bela Schick Award from the American College of Allergists; the Clemons von Pirquet Annual Memorial Lectureship; the Bret Ratner Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics for outstanding contributions to the field of allergy and immunology; the Distinguished Clinician Award from the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology; and the Winona G. Campbell Award from the Aspen Allergy Society. Dr Ellis was a member of the US Pharmacopeia and National Formulary from 1985-1992 and was a member of the first Expert Panel of the National Asthma Education Program of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute beginning in 1988.
