Zusammenfassung: | Summary
Several gravity surveys have been made in Southern England using various gravimeters. The calibrations of these instruments are discussed, and the observations adjusted to obtain relative values of gravity at certain key stations common to two or more of the surveys. The positions of these, and the calculated differences of gravity between them and the Pendulum House, Cambridge, are:
Twenty‐one of the pendulum stations previously described by Bullard and Jolly (1936) have been re‐occupied in gravimeter surveys. The comparisons show that the standard deviation of a single pendulum observation is 1.77 mgl. Some corrections to Bullard and Jolly's paper are given. |
