Zusammenfassung: | This articles describes a newly designed upper division German language course, “Contemporary Germany: Food, Energy Politics, ” and two sampling methods of assessment for measuring parallel gains in German skills and sustainable development (SD) thinking. Second Language Acquisition (SLA) informed course design, key assignments, and multi-media teaching resources are discussed and presented. A content-based pedagogical model is advocated as an effective approach to creating a sustainability- and foreign language-infused curricula that make a valuable contribution to the liberal arts undergraduate education as a whole. |
