Zusammenfassung: | The first part of the series on protecting trademarks and copyrights internationally is presented. This article is a broad overview of the international protection of intellectual property rights (IPR) with particular emphasis on trademarks and copyrights. First discussed is the rights granted to IP owners by international treaties. Second, the article looks at the factors that should be considered when protecting trademarks internationally, the benefits of this protection, as well as the risks of not implementing an adequate protection program. Finally, there is an explanation of the differences between the protection of trademarks and copyrights and the strategies that IP owners should implement to reduce the risk of infringement of their rights. |
