Zusammenfassung: | A yellow specimen of sablefish, Anoplopoma fimbria (60.4 cm total length; 1.8 kg body weight) with partial normal coloration was caught in the Bering Sea on May 31, 1985 from a bottom depth of 650 m off Akutan Island of the Aleutian Islands. This specimen was bright yellow in color with the exception of areas between the lateral line and abdomen and on margins of the fins which had the normal drab slaty color. The iris of the eye was normal black. Based on previous reports and information from fisherman sablefish with this coloration appear to be quite rare in the Bering Sea. |
