Zusammenfassung:Human milk samples, collected from women in maternity hospital wards in the Tokyo metropolitan area from September 1978-November 1979, were analyzed to determine levels of chlordane residues. Oxychlordane and Trans-nonachlor were present in all human milk samples. The levels ranged from 0.1-1.0 ppb. Residues of CIS-chlordane, Trans-chlordane, and CIS-nonachlor in the 0.1 ppb range were also detected. The component patterns of chlordane residues might reflect differences in food chain and metabolic behavior.
