Aseptic Meningitis Associated with Administration of Carbamazepine

Aseptic meningitis has been reported in patients with collagen vascular disease, such as systemic lupus erythematosus, Sjoegren's syndrome, and sarcoidosis. Meningitis as an adverse reaction to administration of ibuprofen, azathioprine, tolmentin, zimeldin, or trimethoprim has also been described. The authors report a case of aseptic meningitis in a patient with Sjoegren's syndrome who received carbamazepine for trigeminal neuralgia.
