Zusammenfassung: | Many studies were performed to assess the association between IL-4 -590C > T polymorphism and non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) risk, but no consensus was available up to now. We conducted a meta-analysis to examine the association between IL-4 -590C > T polymorphism and NHL risk. We used odds ratios (ORs) to assess the strength of the association and 95 % confidence intervals (CIs) to give a sense of the precision of the estimate. A total of six studies were found to be eligible for meta-analyses of IL-4 -590C > T variant. Results from this study showed that IL-4 -590C > T polymorphism was not significantly associated with NHL risk under all genetic models in overall population. Further sensitivity analysis confirmed the results. In subgroup analyses stratified by race, no significant association was found in either Caucasian or mixed populations. The meta-analysis indicated that elected -590C > T polymorphism of IL-4 may not be a risk factor for NHL development. |
